I FINALLY finished the first draft of my middle grade novel

It’s only taken a mere year to finish the first draft of my fist book, a middle grade novel. A not very long one even. Through slowly recovering from debilitating illness (and still struggling with utter exhaustion), two moves, sometimes as much as two months in between writing sessions, being a single mother, etc., I FINALLY did it!!!

You’d think I had just translated the Bible into some newly discovered tongue with double the vocabulary of the English language or something. But no. It was just the flow of my life, and I did what I could when I could.

I feel like Mr. Redmond here and have with certainty taken many falls along the way, expressions of anguish included.

My caption should read, “D.L. Perching is helped towards the finish by her Heavenly Father.”

Thank You, God for bringing this far and all the great improvements in my health.

An artist is currently working on the cover. I’m so excited! But alas. Editing. I don’t expect it to take much longer now. Hoping for a fall release.

Keep the dream alive!
